Biography  


Denton Aud

Denton W. Aud was raised in Carmi, White County, Illinois where he graduated from Carmi-White County High School in 2001. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Murray State University where he graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in Political Science. Mr. Aud graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2008 with his Juris Doctor degree.

 

Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Aud hung his own shingle by opening a general solo practice law office in Carmi. In 2009, he became the Conflicts Public Defender in White County and was later hired as the Assistant State's Attorney of White County in 2010. Mr. Aud was initially elected as the State's Attorney of White County in 2012 before being re-elected in 2016 and 2020.

 

Mr. Aud was elected to the Board of Governors in July 2020.

 

Mr. Aud is also a member of the Carmi Kiwanis Club, volunteers as a coach local youth sports teams, and is an elder at First Christian Church of Carmi. He and his wife, Alex, live in Carmi with their three sons (Drennan, Abraham, and Judah), one daughter (Hosanna), and one child expected in July 2021.
