Joseph Bruscato
Joseph Bruscato currently serves as the Winnebago County State’s Attorney. Joe was elected on November 4, 2008, and sworn in on December 1, 2008. Joe is an active member of the Illinois State’s Attorneys Association serving on the Legislative Committee. In Winnebago, he is the President of the Carrie Lynn Center board, Winnebago’s Child Advocacy Center, as well as Vice-President of the Northern Illinois Epilepsy Board.
Joe graduated from Marquette University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He remained at Marquette graduating from the law school in 1987 with a Juris Doctor Degree. Joe has been admitted to practice law in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Since graduation he has held the following positions:
- Assistant District Attorney, Brown County Wisconsin, 1987-1988
- Assistant City Attorney, Green Bay Wisconsin, 1988-1989
- Director Rockford Regional Office, Illinois Attorney General, 1989-1993
- Private Practice Counsel, Rockford Illinois, 1993-2000
- City Attorney, Rockford Illinois, 2000-2008
Joe resides in Rockford, IL and has three children – Rachele, Gabriella and Angelo.
