Henry S. Dixon
Born May 19, 1934, Married to Linda A. Giesen. Father of three: Kerry A. Dixon Fox, an architect for Iowa State University; Henry S. Dixon Jr., an attorney and LTC in the Illinois Nationl Guard, currently serving in Afganistan; and Robert S. Dixon, an LTC in the U.S. Army, currently serving in Iraq.
Education: BA, University of Notre Dame, 1956; LLB, John Marshall Law School (1963), JD John Marshall (1970); graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (1964) and the U.S. Army War College (1978).
Legal background: State's Attorney of Lee County, 1964-1968, 2008 to current. Member of Ilinois Trail Lawyer's Assn - served 6 years as an elected Manager on the Board of Managers. Member of ISBA, ABA, ITLA, NSAA, Illinois State's Attorney's Assn. Prior to December 1, 2008, Dixon's private practice concentrated in general litigation, primarily civil, but occasionally criminal defense. Licensed to practice in Illinois since 1964 and a member of the trial bar for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Personally tried 267 jury trials. Other: Served in the U.S. Army as a Ranger and paratrooper. Retired as an Infantry colonel (O-6) after 30 years of commissioned service, active and National Guard combined.
