The Third Judicial District is comprised of 21 counties,
all of which participated in the Appellate Prosecutor's
program during FY10.
The Third District Office is located at 628 Columbus Street,
Ottawa, Illinois.

During FY10, the Third District Office received 362 new cases, filed 302 original briefs, 10 reply briefs, 4 supplemental briefs, 7 petitions for rehearing, 20 confessions of error, and 17 petitions for leave to appeal, 96 cases dismissed/consolidated/transferred/other. In addition, 421 motions for extensions, 15 oral arguments were presented, and advice was rendered to State's Attorneys on 501 occasions.
Terry Mertel became the Deputy Director of the Third District Office on August 30, 2007.
