The Fifth Judicial District is comprised of 37 counties, all of which participated in the AppellateProsecutor's program during FY10.

 

The Fifth District Office is located at 730 East Illinois Highway,
Suite 2, Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

 

The Deputy Director supervises a total staff of 12: 9 Staff Attorneys

During FY10, the Fifth District Office received 215 new cases, filed 190 original briefs, 7 reply briefs, 0 supplemental briefs, 1 petitions for rehearing, 17 summary dispositions, 15 confessions of error, and 5 petitions for leave to appeal. In addition, 236 motions for extensions filed, 14 cases were dismissed/consolidated, 80 oral arguments were presented, and advice was rendered to State's Attorneys on 408 occasions.
