The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking an Assistant State’s Attorney to handle child support enforcement cases. Attorneys in the Child Support Enforcement Division represent the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) in the establishment of paternity and the establishment, modification, and enforcement of child support orders. This is a position for an entry level or 1-3 years experienced attorney. Madison County is located in Edwardsville Illinois and is part of the St. Louis Metro Area. Illinois license or recent bar passage is required.


Primary duties and responsibilities include: • Daily/weekly attendance at assigned dockets • Establish and enforcement of new and/or existing child support orders • Establish paternity through DNA docket • Prepare pleadings and responses to motions and research legal issues • Interact with office staff, court personnel, other government agencies, families needing child support enforcement services, etc. • Maintain mandatory CLE requirements established by the ARDC and Illinois Supreme Court • Performs other duties as required or assigned CLOSING DATE: October 12, 2018 or until position is filled QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be licensed in Illinois Send resume and completed Madison County application form, which may be found on the County website: to: TAYLEUR BLAYLOCK COMMUNICATIONS AND ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST MADISON COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY 157 N.
