The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, located in Woodstock, Illinois, is seeking an Entry Level, Full Time, Criminal Assistant State’s Attorney with zero to three years of legal experience, to prosecute criminal cases:


Education: Juris Doctor Degree License: Willing to interview if you are awaiting the results of the IL State Bar Exam Knowledge and Skills Required: • Illinois Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure • Trial Advocacy • Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing • Arguing persuasively before a judge and/or jury • Assimilating facts and drawing sound conclusions • Using tact, discretion, initiative, and independent judgment within established guidelines • Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with minimum direction • Preparing well-reasoned and well-researched motions and briefs • Accurately proofreading copy with accompanying knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling • Performing data entry using word processing, spreadsheet and database commands and formats as required Benefits: McHenry County offers an excellent benefits package which includes: Health, Dental, Vision, Accident and Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, IMRF Pension Plan, Deferred Compensation Plan through Nationwide Retirement Solutions, Roth 457(B), Paid Vacation, Sick, Personal Days and Holidays.
