The Third Judicial District is comprised of 21 counties, all of which participated in the Appellate Prosecutor's program during FY07.
The Third District Office is located at 628 Columbus Street, Ottawa, Illinois.

During FY07, the Third District Office filed 303 original briefs, 13 confessions of error, 14 petitions for rehearing, and 37 petitions for leave to appeal. In addition, 11 cases were dismissed/consolidated, 46 oral arguments were presented, and advice was rendered to State's Attorneys on 422 occasions.
Terry Mertel became the Deputy Director of the Third District Office on August 30, 2007.
